Dali University is a multi disciplinary college with a medical wing as well. Dali University has 3 Campuses, South Renmin Road Campus, Hehua Campus and the Ancient Town Campus, all located within the city of Dali covering total area of 300,000 Sq. Maters. There are 15 colleges including that of Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharmaceutical, Chinese Literature etc. In addition, there are 5 Scientific Research Institutions, an Affiliated Hospital and a Medicine Research Institution. In last few years wide ranging communication and cooperation have been made between the Universities of western countries like USA, UK, Australia, European Countries and South East Asian Countries.

The Dali University Hospital covers a total area of 8.6 hectares with a construction area of 5360 square meters. It has 500 Inpatients beds and 31 clinical departments. There are 560 working staffs in the hospital at present. The Hospital is equipped with advanced medical equipments, such as Hitachi 7180 biochemical analyzer, Nephro Care Hemo Dialysis Machine, Olympus Hysteroscop, in order to meet the requirements of higher medical education. During the past ten years, the hospital has successfully conducted many new and complicated Surgeries, including the first Test –Tube Baby (In Vitro Fertilization) of western Yunnan Province, RF Pedicel Vertebral Arch, Bone screw treatment of Spinal Fractures, total Hip Replacement, Giant Dextroacoustic Neuroma- Ectomy in Cere Bellefontaine angle, Cardiac Surgery on Beating Heart.

In 2005, Dali University started International MBBS Program for South Asian Students separately. Over past four years the University has enrolled more than 350 students from South Asia.
